- After conducting the interviews for this assignment I was able to get lots of information and found out the that most of the consumers from the interview would go on google too find out more information about solar panels and compare pricing for them. Some search terms would be price for solar panels and investing in solar panels. Some sources of information they look for our other people that have had solar panels installed and what kind of affect it has had on their power bill.
- In my interviews I found out that lots of people did not know that you could get solar panels put on their houses and really had no clue what the cost were associated with them and what kind of money you could save in the long run with them.
- In terms of need awareness and information search I would describe this as a strong need for awareness and information search. Lots of people do not know much when it comes to solar panels. I was able to conclude this after conducting my interviews.

Myself included. Solar panels are still a relatively new concept and I think that it is going to take a lot of time or a government mandate before solar panels take off. They are just such a huge initial investment that people nowadays , unless they are wealthy, cannot afford the payment. If you could take a loan on the solar panels and pay them off like you pay your electric bill, then I think that your idea could become more effective. I would have to do endless google searches to find out more on solar panels before I even thought about installing them, so that being said, I fit right in with the people you interviewed.

ReplyDeleteI am also included in the demographic of people who are unsure what the pricing of solar panels are. With solar panels still being so new in today's society, it's going to take some years in order to grow awareness, mostly from the less educated and low-income families since they are not exposed to the idea whatsoever. How much would one of your solar panels charge? A successful implementation of solar panels in today's society will require them to be less expensive, so people could actually afford them.
